2 Public Schools Are Dying.
One class can have 80 children. One teacher. No lab equipment. No good library. Strikes that wipe out a whole school year.
One teacher cannot teach 80 children well. It is impossible. So everyone is just managing.
3 Many Private Schools Are Just Business.
Even if you pay ₦500,000 a term. Even ₦1.5 million. Look carefully. Many private schools spend the money on new buildings and Instagram videos. Not on teaching.
How can you tell? Look at the teachers. Many private schools pay teachers only ₦30,000 to ₦70,000 a month. In this economy.
What kind of teacher will agree to that money? A fresh graduate with no experience. Or someone who is very desperate.
4 Teachers Are Tired.
I work with them every day. Many of them are doing side work to survive. Some drive Bolt at night. Some sell things on WhatsApp during class. Some run small business from the staff room.
By the time they teach your child the next day, they are tired. They are using old lesson notes from 2015. Same notes year after year.
It is not their fault. But it is your child’s problem.
5 The Books They Use Are Old.
I am a Computer Science teacher. I will tell you straight. The Computer Science textbook many schools use is more than 10 years old. Ten years. In a field that changes every six months. That is what they are using to prepare your child.

“But Won’t AI Make My Child Lazy?”
